Willie is a Savannah native and built Casa Oceano Rio as a private residence in 1984. He and Shelly were married in 1993 and over the next 17 years were fortunate to raise their two boys on Tybee Island. After the kids went off to college Shelly and Willie downsized to a home in Savannah's Historic District. The residence was converted to Casa Oceano Rio in 2010 and has welcomed hundreds of guest from all over the world to the paradise of Tybee Island. The couple prefers a hands on approach to management of the property and handle the operation personally instead of relying on high volume vacation rental companies. This allows personal involvement to maintain the high degree of attention to detail and concern that all guest have the best experience possible.
